The Westin W6-BC 100 HSG RH Stealth Gold is a high-speed baitcasting reel from Westins premium W6 series. It is a compact, powerful, and fast reel designed for serious predator anglers. The 100 in the name indicates its size, while HSG stands for High Speed Gear, and RH specifies that it is a right-hand retrieve model. The Stealth Gold refers to its sleek black and gold color scheme. This reel is particularly well-suited for techniques that require a fast retrieve, such as fishing with jigheads, topwater lures, or spinnerbaits.

Key Features and Technology

The W6-BC 100 HSG is engineered with a focus on speed and performance, incorporating several advanced features to handle the demanding nature of modern lure fishing:

• Durable Construction: The reel is built on a rigid, one-piece aluminum frame. This provides a solid and reliable foundation that prevents flex and ensures smooth operation under heavy loads. The side plates are made from carbon, which helps to keep the overall weight down without compromising on strength.
• Bearing System: It features a high-end 10+1 sealed stainless steel ball bearing system. This large number of bearings contributes to the reels exceptionally smooth operation, both on the retrieve and during the cast.
• Braking System: The reel is equipped with an Internal Centrifugal Brake (CBS6) with six shoes. This system provides a high level of control over the spool, helping to prevent backlashes and allowing the angler to fine-tune the cast for different lure weights and wind conditions.
• Drag System: The drag system is a multi-stack carbon drag, which provides a smooth, powerful, and consistent drag force. It also includes a Drag Clicker feature, which produces a clicking sound when line is being pulled from the reel, a useful audible indicator during a fight.
• Gearing: The HSG (High Speed Gear) designation means it has a fast gear ratio of 8.1:1. This high-speed ratio allows for very quick retrieves, which is ideal for working lures at speed, taking up slack line quickly, or burning a lure through the water column. The gears are GT-A gears, which are precision-machined for smooth meshing and durability.
• Ergonomics and Design: The reel features a full carbon handle with non-slip rubber handle knobs for a comfortable and secure grip. The reel is also lubricated with three different types of grease during assembly to ensure optimal performance. The Stealth Gold color scheme gives it a high-end, stealthy aesthetic.
