Garbolino Rod Proxima Jetspin UL 6 (0.5-5g)

The Garbolino Proxima Jetspin UL is a technical masterpiece designed for ultra-light finesse fishing. At 6 feet (1.80m) in length, this rod is specifically tuned for casting micro-lures, tiny spinners, and small soft plastics. Built using High Resistance (HR) Carbon, it offers the perfect marriage of a delicate tip for detecting subtle takes and a surprisingly powerful backbone for playing hard-fighting predators like perch, trout, and chub.

The rod features a reverse fitting (over-cap joint) which maintains a slim profile while ensuring a seamless transfer of power through the blank. Its tip action is lightning-fast, providing the recovery speed needed for flicking 0.5g lures into tight pockets under trees or along canal walls.

Key Performance Features

• Precision Finesse Blank: The HR Carbon construction allows the rod to be incredibly lightweight (only 77g), reducing fatigue during long sessions of repetitive casting. The sensitivity is high enough to feel the vibration of a 1-inch paddle tail or the lightest pluck from a wary fish.

• Hybrid Handle Design: The handle uses a blend of high-density EVA and Cork. This provides the classic warm feel of cork in the palm with the durability and grip of EVA where its needed most during casting and fish playing.

• Upward-Screwing Reel Seat: The tubular reel seat is designed to screw upwards and features a stylish colored carbon insert. This design ensures your hand is in direct contact with the blank or the seat for maximum vibration transmission.

• Tangle-Free Presentation: Equipped with ceramic-lined guides that are optimized for ultra-fine monofilament and the thinnest braided lines, ensuring smooth line flow and minimizing friction during the cast.

• Hook Keeper: A fixed lure hook keeper is positioned just above the handle, allowing you to move between spots quickly without your micro-lure swinging and potentially snagging your line or clothing.

Ideal Usage Scenarios

• Street Fishing & Canals: The 6ft length is perfect for urban environments where space is tight. Its ideal for jigging small soft plastics for canal perch and zander.

• Small Stream Trout: Its ability to cast lures as light as 0.5g makes it a top choice for trout anglers using micro-spoons or nymphs on mountain streams.

• Lure Nomadic/Safari Fishing: Because it breaks down into two equal sections, it is easy to transport through undergrowth or in a small car boot.

• Rock Fishing (LRF): A great entry-level or backup rod for Light Rock Fishing, targeting gobies, blennies, and small wrasse in clear harbor waters.

Gerrys Tip: To get the best out of this ultra-light blank, pair it with a 1000-size reel and a very thin braid (around 0.06mm or 0.08mm). Because the casting weight starts at 0.5g, the rod relies on the line having almost zero air resistance. If youre struggling for distance with a 1g jig head, try a slightly longer fluorocarbon leaderthe added weight of the leader can actually help load the tip just enough for a smoother flick
