Abu Garcia Carabus Delicate2 Spinning Rod (60 | 0.5-3g)

When you need to present your micro lures with ultimate precision, the Abu Garcia Carabus Delicate2 is the finesse tool youve been looking for. Here at Gerrys Fishing, we know that scaling down your gear is often the secret to sizing up your catch rate, and this rod is engineered specifically to be your ideal partner for ultra-light lure fishing.

Built on a super thin, ultra-light 30T carbon blank, the Carabus Delicate2 offers a beautiful progressive action. This responsive design allows you to fire out micro lures accurately and at distance, while ensuring the blank perfectly cushions the lunges of the fish, keeping them securely hooked during the fight to prevent hook pulls. The blank is incredibly lightweight in the hand and is finished to an exceptional standard with high-quality Fuji components and a premium cork handle grip for all-day comfort.

Gerrys Pro Tip

Balance is everything in ultra-light fishing. To properly cast lures weighing as little as 0.5g, you must pair this 6ft rod with a very light 1000 or 2000 size spinning reel. Spool up with an ultra-thin PE braid (around 0.2 to 0.4 PE / 2lb to 4lb breaking strain) to maximize your casting distance and bite transmission. Always finish with a lightweight fluorocarbon leader (around 3lb) so wary fish wont see your line in clear water, and the solid carbon tip will register every single tap!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the benefit of the solid carbon tip? The solid carbon tip on this S model provides two massive advantages for micro lure fishing. First, it offers unparalleled visual bite detection for tiny plucks. Second, it is highly flexible, meaning a fish can inhale your micro lure without feeling immediate resistance, resulting in a much higher hook-up ratio.

Can I use this rod in saltwater for LRF? Absolutely. The Carabus Delicate2 is a fantastic LRF rod. The Fuji guides are durable, but as with all premium fishing tackle, we highly recommend giving the rod rings and reel seat a gentle rinse with warm freshwater after every saltwater session to keep them in pristine condition.

What lures cast best on a 0.5-3g rod? This rod excels with micro soft plastics mounted on 1g to 2g jig heads, tiny 1.5g spoons, and ultra-light floating crankbaits. The 30T blank loads up perfectly even with baits weighing under a gram.
