Long semi-stiff, strong hairs. We use bucktail as the underwing on sandeels and other fish imitations. Bucktail is also the only material used for the legendary Jiggy. A fine imitation for the Danish coasts. Can also be used as feelers on shrimp flies.
At the same time, bucktail is also included in many saltwater flies for tropical fishing.
