Century Tip Tornado Graphex Super Match LD (13ft | 1.755.25oz)

The Century Tip Tornado Graphex Super Match LD represents the third-generation evolution of one of the most iconic rod ranges in sea angling history. The LD stands for Low Diameter, a nod to its incredibly slim, aerodynamic blank that conceals a deceptive amount of power. This is an elite all-rounder designed for the angler who demands the ultimate balance between extreme bite sensitivity and effortless distance casting.

By incorporating Nobel Prize-winning Graphene into the resin matrix, Century has created a rod that is not only lighter and stronger but also features superior dampening and recovery. Whether you are scratching for tiny flatfish on a calm beach or launching a 5oz lead into a moderate surf, the Super Match LD provides a level of technical feedback that is unmatched in the surfcasting world.

Technical Specifications

Key Performance Technologies

• Graphene-Reinforced Matrix: The addition of Graphene enhances the rods tracking (keeping the rod straight during the cast) and sensitivity, ensuring every vibration is felt at the handle.

• SG-T Hybrid Tip: The Super Glass-Carbon tip is the ultimate bite indicator. It is soft enough to register the lightest of rattles from whiting or dabs but recovers instantly to maintain casting efficiency.

• AT-T (Anti-Twist Technology): This proprietary technology resists the natural torque/twisting of the tip during a power cast, significantly improving accuracy and reducing the risk of line wrap around the guides.

• Gearbox Design Butt: A phased composite taper in the butt section allows the rod to load smoothly and progressively. It makes the rod easy to cast for all skill levels while holding a powerful reserve for larger fish.

Examples of Where to Use

• Match Fishing: The primary choice for competitive anglers who need to detect tiny knocks at distance to build a winning weight of silverfish.

• Clean & Mixed Ground: While optimized for clean beaches, the Graphene-reinforced blank has the backbone to handle bonus fish like Bass or Rays over moderate terrain.

• Finesse Surfcasting: Ideal for use with light lines and delicate rigs where a stiff rod would lead to snapped snoods or missed bites.

Pro Tip from Gerrys Fishing

The Ultra-Slim Advantage: The first thing youll notice about the Super Match LD is how effortlessly it cuts through the air. Because the blank is so slim, wind resistance is minimized during the cast, allowing for higher tip speeds with less physical effort. To get the best out of this rod, we recommend using it with a high-quality fixed spool reel (size 7000-8000) or a small 6500-size multiplier. The American Tackle Titanium K guides are specifically designed to handle ultra-thin braids or light monofilaments, making this the most refined casting tool in your armory
