Prologic Avenger Pro Foam Unhooking Mat (135x90cm)

Superior Protection for Your Prize Catch.

At Gerrys, we believe that fish care should never be a compromise. The Prologic Avenger Pro Foam Unhooking Mat is engineered to provide a safety-first environment for specimen fish, combining high-tech impact resistance with a clever contoured design. Whether you are landing a personal best Carp, a specimen Pike, or a heavy Barbel, this mat ensures your catch remains calm, supported, and fully protected from the ground.

The secret to its success is the Dual-Layered construction. A high-impact foam base absorbs the shock of the fish, while a generous layer of loose poly-balls allows you to shape a cratered center. This cradles the fish in the middle of the mat, preventing it from sliding toward the edges during the unhooking and photography process.

Key Fish-Care Features:

• Hybrid Padding System: Combines high-impact resistance foam with a moldable poly-ball center for a custom-contoured fit.

• Raised Safety Barriers: The stylish camo sides are densely packed with poly-balls, creating a raised perimeter that prevents even the liveliest fish from flapping off the mat.

• Quick-Dry Materials: Designed to shed water rapidly, making it easier to pack away at the end of a session without soaking your car.

• Fish-Friendly Fabrics: Every surface that touches the fish is smooth and non-abrasive, ensuring the protective slime layer remains intact.

• Extra Large Footprint: At 135cm long, this mat is capable of handling the largest UK specimens with ease.

Where to Use the Avenger Pro Foam Mat

1. Specimen Carp Fishing:

The primary choice for any serious carper. The 135cm length provides ample room for 30lb+ fish, while the raised sides give you total peace of mind when reaching for your forceps or camera.

2. Predator Sessions (Pike & Zander):

Pike are notoriously lively on the bank. The cratered center of this mat helps keep these long, powerful fish centered and secure, reducing the risk of injury to the fish or the angler.7

3. Hard-Standing Swims:

If you are fishing on wooden platforms, gravel paths, or concrete piers, the high-impact foam base is essential. It provides a thick, cushioned barrier that prevents the fish from coming into contact with the hard ground.8

4. Roving River Angling:

Despite its generous size, the mat remains relatively lightweight.9 It can be folded or rolled and clipped to a barrow or rucksack, making it a great option for Barbel anglers who need top-tier protection that is still mobile.

Gerrys Tip: Always make sure to thoroughly soak the mat with lake or river water before placing a fish on it. This keeps the fish-friendly fabric cool and lubricated, ensuring the fishs scales and slime layer are perfectly preserved for a safe release
