This 2.40m (approx. 8ft) model with a 14-40g casting weight is the goldilocks of the rangeit is versatile enough to handle everything from medium-sized lures for Perch and Zander to larger spoons and plugs for Pike and Bass.

Designed as an entry-level rod, it focuses on durability and ease of use, making it a fantastic gift for young anglers or a robust tool for those who need a rod that can handle the occasional knock or scrape.

Durable Design & Forgiving Action

• Tough Composite Blank: Unlike high-modulus carbon rods which can be brittle, the FX XT is built on a strong composite blank. This material is incredibly resilient to the knocks and scrapes of inexperienced handling, providing peace of mind for those learning the ropes.

• Forgiving Through-Action: The rod features a moderate through-action. This means the rod bends progressively along its length, which is very forgiving during the cast and helps prevent hook-pulls when a fish is shaking its head near the net. It makes casting easy and intuitive for beginners.

• Shimano Hardlite Guides: These robust guides are designed to be braid-friendly. Whether you are using traditional monofilament or modern braided lines, the Hardlite inserts ensure smooth line flow and long-term durability.

• Comfortable EVA Handle & DPS Seat: The handle is made from high-density EVA foam, which is easy to clean and provides a secure grip even when wet. It is fitted with a reliable Shimano DPS reel seat that locks your reel firmly in place.

• Aesthetic Match: The carbon-grey blank with gold accents is specifically designed to match the Shimano FX Spinning reel, creating a professional-looking combo that any angler would be proud to own.

Use Example: Your First Predator Session

Imagine a young angler heading to a local canal or lake for the first time. They arent sure if theyll catch a small Perch or a hard-fighting Pike.

The FX XT 2.40m 14-40g is the perfect companion. Its 8ft length provides a good balance between casting distance and control in tight spots. The 14-40g rating means it can cast a small 15g spinner for Perch just as easily as a 35g spoon for Pike. Because the blank is so tough, the angler doesnt have to worry if they accidentally bump the rod against a railing or a tree. Its a rod that builds confidence, allowing the newcomer to focus on learning how to lure fish.
